We met in September, 2021 at HonorHealth Osborn Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona — the kind of place where fluorescent lights, understaffing, and mysteriously vanishing equipment are just part of the daily ambiance. For two years, we worked side by side through the usual hospital madness... Somewhere in all that chaos, we became each other’s person — the coworker you check the schedule for and think, “Okay, at least today won’t be a full disaster.” Things shifted from "go-to coworker" to is this... "something"? when Thomas started teaching Haley how to do ultrasound IVs. There was something about standing shoulder-to-shoulder trying to cannulate a dehydrated arm vein in room 314, that just did something to us. It wasn’t dramatic — no rom-com music, no slow-motion — just one of those subtle moments where you realize someone makes everything feel easier. Even a tough shift. Even a stubborn vein in room 314. After that, it didn’t take long to realize our connection wasn’t just good teamwork. We genuinely liked being around each other — even off the clock, when no one was asking us for warm blankets or meds every two minutes. Eventually we stopped pretending it was just coworker chemistry, went on an actual date, and everything fell into place more easily than either of us expected. Now here we are — years later — getting married in Southern California, grateful that a couple of chaotic shifts and one ultrasound machine ended up bringing us together.
