Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Great question! We are getting married in the small town of Gridley, which has limited accommodations. We recommend staying in Yuba City, which is larger and will have more options. For those flying into and out of Sacramento, Oakland, or San Francisco, it will also be on the way back to the airport! Additionally, there are many beautiful areas in California that are worth visiting if you are from out of state. Please see our travel page for more ideas!

Question

I am not Catholic or am not practicing. . .what should I expect from the Wedding Mass?

Answer

Thank you so much for coming to celebrate with us! By attending the ceremony, you will be witnessing two sacraments of the Church: the Eucharist in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Sacrament of Matrimony. We will have programs to help you follow along with the Mass, and you can follow those around your for sitting/standing/kneeling cues :) Reception of Holy Communion is reserved for practicing Catholics, but you are welcome to come forward to receive a blessing from the priest during this time. You can indicate your desire for a blessing instead of Communion by crossing your arms across your chest (hands on your shoulders). If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to Gabriella and Thomas!

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

For the ceremony, there is a parking lot located behind the Church and on the streets on every side of the Church. We are still determining the best method for parking at the reception so stay tuned!

Question

What’s going on with this gap between the Mass and reception? What are we supposed to do?

Answer

We know this isn’t the most common in modern weddings, but after attending many weddings over the past couple years, we found that having this gap for photos and getting ready for the reception allows us to be part of the entire reception WITH YOU. To make the most of the break, feel free to check out our “Things to Do” page for suggestions. Whether you grab a coffee, explore the area nearby, or take a break at your hotel, you should get ready to celebrate at the reception! Additionally, the later reception time means that there will be ample shade and lower temperatures in the outdoor reception venue which we will all enjoy :)

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

June 1st, please! This will allow us to give our caterer the most accurate numbers sufficiently in advance. For last-minute changes, please text Thomas or Gab! :)

Question

Can I have a plus one?

Answer

If you are in need of a plus-one please contact Thomas or Gabriella and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Question

Should Gifts be Brought to the Wedding?

Answer

Thank you for your generosity! Gabriella and Thomas will be flying to their new home in Texas after the wedding, so their space will be limited to carry gifts. We prefer that gifts be sent to the address listed on the registry if ordered: 1524 John Smith Drive, Irving, TX, 75061 However, we will have some room so cards and gifts from here in CA can be brought if it is most convenient for you!
