Florence is a little over an hour drive away and has classic Oregon beaches, short hikes (Hobbit trail and Washburne State Park), Heceta Head lighthouse, and good seafood restaurants (try Homegrown Public House and Bridgewater Fish House)! Heading south from there, you'll find hikes in the Oregon Dunes -- try the Threemile Lake loop. Or heading north, you'll find the charming town of Yachats with awesome hiking at Cape Perpetua and more good seafood (we recommend Luna Sea for simple fish and chips, Yachats Brewing, Drift Inn, and Bread and Roses bakery).
The only national park in Oregon, this is the seventh deepest lake in the world and unbelievably beautiful! Some of the highlights: - Circling the lake on the 33 mile Rim Drive - Cleetwood Cove hike (only way to access the water) - Boat tour to Wizard Island - Garfield Peak - Scott Mountain - Watchman Peak - Refreshments at the historical Crater Lake Lodge

Alton Baker Park, Dorris Ranch, Hendricks Park, and Owens Rose Garden are lovely parks in town for a walk, bike ride (rentals available from local bike shops or the PeaceHealth bike share), or picnic!
