Thomas & Christy go way back — all the way to Murdy Elementary in 2nd grade. At the time, Thomas was just the kid who crashed Christy’s birthday pool party… and Christy was the girl Thomas thought would look way cuter without glasses. Fast forward ten years to senior year of high school, Thomas asked Christy to be his “homework buddy,” but he definitely wasn’t just looking for help with assignments. They talked about everything except homework — and the rest is history. Turns out, their chemistry really did earn an A+.
Thomas, being Thomas, accidentally chose April Fools’ Day to propose, leaving Christy briefly wondering if he was playing the biggest prank of all. It all happened during their trip to Japan. Thomas knew he would propose that day, but he had zero plan for when or where. They spent the day exploring breathtaking cherry blossom spots, standing under pink petals falling like confetti. In Christy’s mind: “This would be the perfect moment!” In Thomas’s mind: “This is too perfect… no, no… keep going.” Hours later, while crossing a tiny stepping-stone path over a koi pond, Thomas suddenly dropped to one knee, wobbling a little as the rocks shifted, and asked Christy to marry him. It wasn’t the glamorous movie scene she imagined moments before… but it was perfectly them — spontaneous, funny, and unforgettable.
