Way back when Thomas and Brianna were ready to start high school, they ended up at the same pool one afternoon. As with any 8th grade hang out, it was full of awkwardness, guys on one side of the pool, girls on the other. Thomas walked away that day with quite the impression of Brianna, smart, beautiful, funny, and incredibly loud. Brianna remembers Thomas being cute, hilarious and way smoother than her. Their paths crossed again during sophomore year math class when Thomas sat behind Brianna. He put on the gentle flirts a poke here, a pencil jab here, anything for her attention. Well that slowly morphed into texting all day and night and forging a great friendship. Eventually the stars aligned and they started dating, with a couple months of senior year left (timing has never been our strong suit). They decided to remain friends in college to only start dating the day before Brianna left for Appleton (again not great timing) and have been inseparable ever since! The last 7 years they’ve traveled to numerous places, taught Thomas how to ski, survived through quarantine, and explored all that North Loop has to offer.

Thomas knew he needed to be really clever as Brianna had always said she'd know when he was going to propose. They had planned to go to Bar La Grassa with their good friends Liz and Drew Kremer months prior and Thomas knew it was the perfect opportunity to hide a proposal. In hindsight Brianna should have realized it was going to happen that night as Thomas helped pick out her outfit, was anxious all day, and was obsessed with his phone but all she could think about was what they were going to eat and ending the night with an espresso martini. The four of them started the night on the rooftop but when Thomas asked Liz to take a photo of them she realized something was happening (we all know Thomas is not a fan of the photos). Thomas got down on one knee and said "will you marry me please?" Brianna was quick to respond with a million YES’s and "is this happening?!" Thomas didn’t stop the surprises there. A photographer documented the entire thing, a drone captured the proposal so they can watch it for years to come, their families were waiting for them after and then she was surprised again with all their friends! The night ended in the early hours of the morning, eating papa johns with friends and being surrounded with so much love and joy!
