Things To Do

Make a trip out of it! We're so excited to share with you some of our favorite places and activities around Tahoe!

Sand Harbor Beach

NV

This is a very busy beach in the summer, so if you plan to go here, take an uber or go really early to get a parking spot!

Villa Bella Private Estate

Tahoe Vista, CA 96148

Where Thomas and AK will say "I do!" & kiss in front of all family and friends & dance the night away with you!

Crystal Bay

Crystal Bay, NV

North Tahoe Regional Park

6600 Donner Road, Tahoe Vista, CA 96148
, (530) 546-4212

Trails for hiking and biking. Dog-friendly, and bear-friendly.

Flume Trail

Flume Trail, Incline Village, NV 89451

Mountain biking trail that can be accessed through Incline Village, and has beautiful views overlooking the turquoise waters of Sand Harbor. It's relatively flat and not extremely technical, but has great views.

Lakeshore Sports

8499 North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach, CA 96143
, (530) 553-1660

Grab yourself a paddle board or a kayak and go down to the lake for a relaxing paddle!

Historic Downtown Truckee

10065 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, CA 96161
, (530) 587-2757

My personal favorite place to go in the summer or winter to walk around and go to some shops. In the summer there is Truckee Thursdays from 3-9pm and it's a craft fair with food trucks and beer garden on the main road. It's always a good time!

Eagle Rock Hike

Eagle Rock Hike

3370 W Lake Blvd, Homewood, CA 96141

First hike Thomas and AK did together! Easiest 15 minute hike from the main road by Homewood. Park on the side of the road and start the hike. You hike around to the backside of the rock and it has the most amazing view of the lake. You can even do this hike in flip flops or converse! (but mate where tennies or hiking boots if you can).

Drive around Lake Tahoe

Drive around Lake Tahoe

Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150

One of Annie Kate's favorite things to do is take a drive around the Lake and stop at some fun places along the way! It's about a 2 hour drive around the lake, depending on how many stops you make. Some fun places to stop: Emerald Bay, Eagle Rock (10 min hike with amazing view), Tahoe House, Squaw Valley, Tahoe University in Truckee, Potlatch in Incline Village and Cave rock in South Shore.

Backpacking

Backpacking

Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150

Plan an overnight backpacking trip while you're in Tahoe! My favorite is in the South Shore, starting at Echo lakes or Fallen leaf lake and going into desolation wilderness, but there are places to backpack in the North Shore also.

Mount Tallac Trail

Mount Tallac Trail, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150

This is a difficult but rewarding and enjoyable hike but has a great view at the top! AK and her dad and Thomas hiked this the first time Thomas came to Tahoe and Thomas kicked our butts.

Truckee Thursday

Truckee Thursday

10065 Donner Pass Rd, Truckee, CA 96161
, (530) 587-2757

It's from 5:00-8:30pm. They close down the main street and set up a local craft fair and food trucks and beer garden with live music. SO fun! Annie Kate's favorite weekly event to go to in Truckee, also her favorite place!

Java Hut

8268 North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach, CA 96143

Cute little local coffee shop.

CB's Bistro

5075 North Lake Boulevard, Carnelian Bay, CA 96140
, (530) 546-4738

Las Panchitas

8345 North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach, CA 96143
, (530) 546-4539

Mexican food is a must in Tahoe, especially the little family owned restaurants!

Fire Sign Cafe

1785 W Lake Blvd, Tahoe City, CA 96145
, (530) 583-0871

Annie Kate's favorite breakfast spots on the West shore. You have to get their fresh baked bread/muffins!

For all the days along the way
