The Cruzan Rum distillery was founded here on St. Croix in 1760 and is located on the grounds of the historic sugar plantation Estate Diamond. As a distinct brand name, ‘Cruzan Rum’ began in 1934 with the founding of the Diamond Rum Company by Malcolm M. Skeoch and other investors on St. Croix
10-15 minute drive from King House. St. George Village Botanical Garden is dedicated to conservation and preservation of both the historical and living collections on its grounds. The Garden’s mission is to conserve the native plant species of St. Croix, as well as threatened species of other Caribbean islands suited to local environmental conditions. In addition, the Garden preserves the ethno-botanical history of St. Croix through living, graphic and structural displays. Through its gardens and collections, it is a center of education for better understanding, not only of the island’s botanical heritage, but also the horticultural potential for contemporary gardening in the Virgin Islands. Also, visit the the St. Croix Seashell Society Museum in the Garden’s Great Hall.

Frederiksted Beach is easily accessible. There are some trees that provide relief from the sun. There are public restrooms, picnic tables, and plenty of space to spread out. This beach has calm water, making this an area for paddle boarding, swimming and snorkeling.
Dorsch Beach features soft, white sand and plenty of shade under palm and sea grape trees, making it a great place to relax and spend the day. Dorsch Beach is a favorite with locals on the weekends and holidays, but is generally nice and quiet during the weekdays. With a mostly sandy bottom, there is not much to see while snorkeling except around the small rocky patches. However, the calm waters of the West End are great for swimming and floating.
Rainbow Beach is located on the West End of St. Croix, and has calm waters, perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding or snorkeling. If you're looking for something more exciting, West End Water Sports also rents jet skis, and offers jet ski tours of the West End from Rainbow Beach. Plan to spend the day here, rent some beach chairs and an umbrella for shade and treat yourself to lunch at the beach side restaurant and bar.
Cane Bay Beach is a popular hang out for locals and visitors alike. It is also a popular place for families to spend time with their kids, and dogs, because it’s a one stop beach that has everything. With access to several bars and restaurants right from the beach, it makes for an easy and enjoyable beach day. There is plenty to do to keep you occupied. Bask in the Caribbean sun, play volleyball, rent some beach chairs and dive into a good book, or take a dip in the clear warm water. Scuba diving and snorkeling are the most popular pastimes here, as Cane Bay offers easy access from the shore to great snorkeling, and shore diving the world famous Wall.
Shoys Beach is on the East End of St. Croix, conveniently located just a few miles outside of Christiansted. Quiet and secluded, Shoys Beach is a picturesque stretch of white sand overlooking the Caribbean waters and makes for a great getaway. Parts of the beach are a little rocky, but there are plenty of sandy areas as well. The waters are calm for most of the year and the bottom is generally sandy and grassy which makes for great swimming conditions. There are no amenities at this beach, there is however plenty of shade from the seagrape trees and other foliage that lines the beach.

Tamarind Reef Resort, beach affords beautiful views of both Green Cay and Buck Island. This small stretch of well maintained beach boasts rows of towering palms and amenities galore. Tamarind Reef Beach has every possible amenity you could need. Between the hammocks and cabanas for lounging, the great snorkeling just off the beach, and the activities available from the beach shack – you’ll need at least one full day to spend at Tamarind Reef Beach. Parts of the beach can be a little rocky, so watch your step.
Turner Hole Turner Hole beach is located in front of the Divi Carina Bay Resort and Casino. Since this a resort property, there is a bar, restaurant, pool, dock, tennis court, and even a casino on the premises. Across the street there is a mini-golf course. The beach itself has a beach shack that offers full amenities; take a kayak or sunfish out, go windsurfing, or rent snorkeling gear. Lessons are available for all these water activities. There are beach chairs to lounge on, a few hammocks swaying between the palm trees, and plenty of shade. There is also plenty of parking available. Divi is a fun place for the family to spend the day.
Protestant Cay Beach is located at Hotel on the Cay (pronounced ‘key’) on Protestant Cay. This small island is located in the Christiansted Harbor, just off downtown Christiansted. It is accessible by a short ferry ride that departs from the Boardwalk near Fort Christianvaern for a small fee. Protestant Cay provides the only downtown Christiansted beach access, so it is a great option if you are staying in town. There are plenty of lounge chairs available to rent and palm trees to provide shade. The water is shallow with a sandy bottom. This is a great beach for kids and for swimming, as the water is usually fairly calm. The northern part of the cay also offers some great snorkeling. Keep your eyes open for starfish, schools of juvenile fish, conch, and more.
