Here is a list of a few of our favorite areas and activities for you.

Tumalo Falls Trailhead

Bend, OR 97701

A hike to a gorgeous waterfall—perfect for photos. There is no specific address, but the best way to get there is to drive west from Bend on Skyliners Road (Forest Road 4601) for about 11.6 miles, then turn onto Tumalo Falls Rd (Forest Road 4603) for another 2.6 miles. The trailhead and parking area are at the end of Tumalo Falls Rd.

Smith Rock State Park

If you enjoy scenic views of deep river canyons or rock climbing, Smith Rock State Park is the place for you. There are several thousand climbs in the park. More than a thousand are bolted routes. The park offers miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Along your trip through the canyon, you might see golden eagles, prairie falcons, mule deer, river otter and beaver.

Deschutes River

The Deschutes River. The pride and joy of Bend. Flowing 252 miles from its headwaters at Little Lava Lake high up in the Cascades to the mighty Columbia River, it’s Central Oregon’s lifeblood. Whether you like tube floating, surfing, or paddle boarding, you can find it all here.

High Desert Museum

Since 1988, Deschutes Brewing has been a friendly fixture in downtown Bend, Oregon—a gathering spot for friends, families, locals and visitors. They offer a total of 19 taps, a beer-centric menu of farm-to-table dishes, and a self-service game room upstairs (think shuffleboard and vintage video games).
