Hotel

Villa Vistarenni

Localita' Vistarenni
Toscana 53013, Italy
 +39 0577 738476

This 18th century villa will be rented out in its entirety for our wedding weekend (5/27/22 - 5/30/22). We will be hosting all the wedding events here including the welcome dinner, ceremony, and reception. There are 18 bedrooms all with private bathrooms (& free WiFi), several kitchens, lounges, swimming pool, tennis court, gardens, ancient wine cellars, and a consecrated chapel. Families and couples will each have their own bedrooms. Exact rooms will be assigned upon arrival, and daily light breakfast is included in the stay! You do not need to contact the Villa to reserve your rooms as they are all already reserved for our exclusive use that weekend. There will be enough space for everyone!

Flight

Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO) & Florence Airport, Petrola (FLR)

These are the two airports we would recommend using when flying into Italy. The first, Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is located in Rome, Italy. We have found that this airport has better deals on flights compared to the others. The second airport, Florence Airport, Petrola (FLR), is in Florence, Italy as the name suggests. This airport is more convenient for travel, but the prices when using this airport can be slightly higher compared to those from the Roman airport.

Travel Note

Transportation

There are several ways to travel around Italy! Public transportation is by far the cheapest and most adventurous option! We love using the metro and bus system when available, however, getting a taxi or renting a car are other great options! Travel time changes according to which airport you decide to fly into. From the airport in Rome, Villa Vistarenni is about a 3 hour drive via taxi/rental car or 5 hour train/bus ride away. From the Florence airport, Villa Vistarenni is about 1.5 hours away via taxi/rental car or 4 hours away via train/bus.

Train

Trenitalia

We've used Trenitalia several times--a great option when traveling from Rome to Florence or around Italy in general!

Rental Car

Hertz

We used Hertz as our car rental company when traveling from Florence to Tuscany. Prices were affordable, and the process for picking up and dropping off the car was very smooth. Don't forget to request a cool Fiat to feel like a true Italian! Also, an international driving permit in Italy is required by law if you plan to operate a vehicle in Italy - whether you're renting a car in Italy or booking an international rental which will take you briefly across the Italian border. It is recommended that you use only AAA (www.aaa.com) or the AATA (aataidp.com) for your license. Other agencies may offer the international license, but it is likely they will charge far more than needed for the license. You must complete an application for the license and present your original license as well as two passport photos to obtain the license. You can complete these steps in person or online by submitting your application. Link above!

House Or Rental

Airbnb

There are several Airbnbs in both Rome and Florence to choose from! This may be a great option if arriving a few days before the wedding or after the wedding festivities!
