The dress code for our ceremony and reception is semi-formal. We love wearing jeans as much as the next guy, but we ask that you keep those bad boys locked away for a later day. Please note that our ceremony will take place in a grassy area -- consider wearing shoes that will not sink into the ground. Lastly, Somerset will likely be very warm during the month of June, but has the possibility of cooling down at night. It's always a good idea to bring layers to make sure you are comfortable. Ultimately, we want you to feel like your best self, and to be comfortable doing it!
Great question! Unless your child has been addressed on the save the date/invitation, we ask that you make arrangements to attend our wedding without them. We love your wonderful kiddos, but we hope you will understand our decision to make the wedding children-free, and take the opportunity to let your hair down and celebrate in style!
We feel fortunate to have a venue where we can do it all -- ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception! Please note, however, that our ceremony location is a steep walk downhill from our reception site (and your arrival location). We have transportation arrangements for those who are unable to make the walk down (and back up) on their own. As our transportation resources are very limited, we kindly ask that you make the walk on your own if you are able, to ensure that those who need the assistance will be able to enjoy our ceremony as well.
We love each and every one of you, and we can't wait for a lively night full of fun and celebration! We will not be offering shuttle services, however, your safety is still our main priority. If you would like to celebrate worry-free, we encourage you to bring a camper, tent, or sleeping bag. All of our guests are more than welcome to spend a night under the stars before they head back into town the next morning. If you are coming from out of state and are unable to bring camping equipment with you, please reach out to us and we'd be happy to help you make arrangements. If you do not wish to spend the night after our reception, please ensure that you have a designated driver to get you back home safely.
No you will not. Somerset is a small, unincorporated community in rural Northern California. Rideshare apps will likely not service this location. Please make other arrangements whether that's renting a car or carpooling with friends. Remember that you are more than welcome to camp out under the stars if you do not wish to drive home after a night of celebration.
We understand the stress and anxiety that can come with navigating large gatherings during times such as these, which is why we want to be as transparent as possible, so that all guests understand what they can expect during our celebration. We will not be requiring masks, negative tests, or vaccination. However, the health and well being of our guests is our top priority. The entire event will take place outdoors, and we will do our very best to seat guests with those that they have likely already been in contact with. We will also provide masks to all those who wish to wear them, and we strongly advise and encourage anyone who feels sick to stay home.
Our ceremony is located at 7281 Mahaney Ranch Road, Somerset, CA 95684. Apple Maps will not provide directions to our venue, so Google Maps is the way to go! Service is spotty in this area, so please have the directions loaded before you begin driving. Travel safe, and we can't wait to see you!
We love that you want to make sure everyone gets to see our beautiful day! But don't worry, we've already got you covered! We spent a lot of time researching very talented photographers and videographers, and we're confident that they will be able to capture our day. We ask that you please put all phones away during our ceremony and any other "big moments" throughout the night, and let the professionals work their magic! Thank you in advance for understanding.
