We swiped right and the rest is history. He works with a couple of my friends, so I asked them all kinds of questions because how did we live in the same small town, and our paths had never crossed?! We texted back and forth for a week or more before he finally asked if I wanted to go to dinner. Our first date was at King Jefe where he took me for sushi. The food and drinks were delicious as always, but the conversation was so good that we stayed in there until it was time for them to close. I knew that night that he was different from any guy I had ever dated. We continued to hang out and talk as often as we could even though we have very different work schedules. Despite an almost breakup breakfast a few weeks later, that we laugh about every day now, our relationship has blossomed through road trips and adventures that include a lot of Taylor Swift (this is how I knew he loved me). Our engagement story is my favorite. We went to Frank's Outback in Pawleys Island to celebrate our one year anniversary. He kept mentioning how many people were there that night. I knew he had the ring, but I wasn't sure if it was physically with him at dinner. He told me he'd be right back, and left for a few minutes. After returning, he continued to talk about how many people were still in the restaurant. We were in the back corner, and he nervously got up, came around the table so no one could see what he was doing and he got down on one knee and said "I love you, will you marry me?" Both of us were pretty emotional, so that's all that he could get out, and to this day, we aren't exactly sure if I verbally said "yes" or just shook my head yes, lol. When we left, we asked the hostess to take our picture and I was still visibly crying from excitement and she said "honey are you ok?" and I had to explain that I was actually doing fantastic because he had just proposed. That weekend was definitely one to remember! Now, we're in the midst of planning a small, intimate ceremony in the Florida Keys. We think our story is filled with so much laughter and love creating a foundation for a beautiful journey ahead.
