We met each other in our high school vocal class. Kalten was super quiet, and I the ever extroverted sophomore bounced right over to him and introduced myself. All I got back was a simple, "Hi." It took us a little over a year to actually start to like each other and to date, The rest is history!
Kalten and I were homecoming dates in 2015. It's so crazy to think that one simple school dance would lead to where we are now, but well, life is funny that way. When I was driving Kalten home from the dance (he couldn't drive yet), He looked over at me and said, "This was fun. Do you want to go out again sometime?" I was ecstatic. I nodded. We didn't end up going to a movie until later that December.
Kalten has never formally asked me to be his girlfriend. We were in the "talking stage" for so long, and I don't think either of us were brave enough to ask. One day one of Kalten's classmates came walking down the hallway, and asked, "So are you guys dating or something." Kalten looked over at me and replied, "yeah, I guess we are."
Kalten had been planning this really nice date for a couple of weeks. He paid for me to get my hair done and for me to get my nails done. Believe me, I knew something was up. When the day came for our date, we went to a lake just outside of Kearney, NE, and he popped the question! I knew it was coming, but I cannot tell you how overjoyed I was. Of course, I said yes. Five years is a really long time, and I've known it was him since year one.
