Like any good story, it began with the internet. As introverts with crazy work schedules, meeting people isn't either of our forte's. So we both, at different times, with varying degrees of enthusiasms, decided to try out a dating app. Jared was only on it for a few months, while I was only on it for one day before we matched and started talking. A little over a month later, we went on our first date. What was supposed to just be dinner, turned into dessert and a long walk at Rail Road Park. We went on our 2nd date the next week... a Baron's game for my work event. Now the rest is history!
After a long week of work for me, I was so ready for a nice anniversary dinner and to go home and watch TV and get into bed early. Little did I know, Jared had other plans. He made reservations at Gianmarcos, and then insisted we go to the Redmont Rooftop Bar afterwards. As the sun was setting over Birmingham, Jared asked if I wanted to take a picture. We have very few pictures together so I jumped at the opportunity. Once we finally got the golden shot, he turned me around and asked if I knew why we had come to the roof top bar. Besides to hang out and to celebrate our anniversary, I didn't. Quickly though, he was getting on one knee, telling me he loved me, and asking me to marry him. The rest of the weekend was filled with friends and family and taking in the this new season as the future Howell's.
