As a freshman at UNL in the fall of 2015, Haley attended 10pm Sunday mass at the Newman Center. She often noticed this “attractive guy” (Kyle) a junior, there as well. Unfortunately they never had any real opportunities to meet, despite several "well-thought-out" suggestions from Haley's sisters :) Over the next two years they continued to randomly see each other at unexpected times. In 2018, Haley happened to be at UNL's graduation ceremony and saw that same “attractive guy” appear on the big screen, walking across the stage to accept his diploma. Haley flipped through the program and found his name, but nothing would become of it and she lost track of him. While traveling for golf and trying to manage school, she wondered if Kyle had maybe moved away. She was wrong! Kyle had recently started his full-time job with Hausmann Construction after graduation, remaining close by in Lincoln. On 5/11/2019, Haley had plans to attend the Luke Combs concert in Omaha to celebrate her twin cousins' 21st birthdays. Unfortunately earlier that morning, Haley and Kevin hit a coyote (yes, a coyote) on the drive to Wichita for a golf lesson which required some immediate auto repair. Under no circumstances was Haley going to miss out on that concert! We won’t say who was speeding back, but good thing Kevin was in the passenger seat sleeping:) There must have been a reason why God wanted her in Omaha that night. After the concert, Haley and her cousins landed at Billy Frogs (an Old Market bar) and "that same attractive guy” appeared again. This time they were finally able to meet and share their stories! Haley was surprised to hear Kyle actually knew who she was this entire time, and they both regretted the many missed opportunities from the past. Aside from the pouring rain, it was a memorable night... just ask Hannah! :) Kyle got Haley's number and their first date was a month later on 6/13/2019. The past 4.5 years have been quite the whirlwind. Haley's final college golf season was cut short by Covid-19 in 2020, graduate school started in 2021, she finished her Masters Degree in 2022 and moved away to Omaha to teach golf, but then switched careers in 2023 and moved back to Lincoln. Kyle has stayed in Lincoln ever since, as they navigated through all of life's twists and turns together. On 12/1/23, Kyle proposed at NAM Catholic Church. After much waiting and anticipation for this special day they realized there is “no perfect time,” but rather God's timing is always perfect. We are so thankful for all of you and the significance you hold in our lives.
