We met at Capital Area Regional Training Academy (CARTA). For 4 months straight, we spent Monday-Friday, over 8 hours a day together. We suffered through 5am workouts, long classroom days and the worst day of all….pepper spray day! Let’s just say we saw each other at our worst before our best, and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! We became best friends in the police academy and the rest is history!

It was a surprise vacation for me (Sarah), celebrating my birthday and our dating anniversary. Ryan planned it all and I had no idea where we were going until the flight! The first day after landing in Denver, Colorado and dropping off our luggage at the condo, we headed to the Rocky Mountain National Park! We were on the hunt for wild animals! At the second stop, Deer Mountain Trail, about a mile in, with a beautiful view, Ryan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was so sweet and so us! Deep in the wilderness, not a soul in sight, just him and I. We spent the entire week on vacation grinning ear to ear about our engagement! It was a moment we will never forget!
