We met back in October 2016 at a high school soccer game. Lauryn was new, and a mutual friend had invited her to watch the boys' game at the Palmerston arena. What started as an offer to fill Aydan's water bottle turned into small talk, which turned into a first date—complete with butterflies in our bellies. After many late-night phone calls and countless dates, Aydan asked Lauryn to be his girlfriend on New Year’s Eve 2016. We spent our teenage years side by side, shaping each other into the people we are today—the kind of young love you only see in movies: young, real, imperfect, and entirely ours. We shared milestones, created memories while being silly kids, supported each other's dreams, and eventually started planning our future together. In September 2023, we moved into Lauryn’s childhood home in Teviotdale, Ontario, with our border collie, Riley. Not long after, we added our golden retriever, Millie, to the family. Together, we’ve made new memories in this home, pouring love into every corner and planting our roots. And it's here—on July 24th, 2027—surrounded by everything we've built together, that we’ll say "I do." In the summer of 2024, during our annual family camping trip to Grundy Lake, Aydan brought Lauryn to our favorite little island at sunset. It was there he got down on one knee—and it was the easiest "yes" of all.
