Question

WILL I NEED A VISA TO ENTER VIETNAM?

Answer

For most of our guests coming from Canada, you will require an e-visa. It is a quick process, and you will get the visa in approx. 72 hours. The e-visa cost is $25 USD and should only be completed on the official Vietnam Government website: https://evisa.gov.vn/ Please check to see if you require a visa for your country & situation.

Question

Which city should I be flying into?

Answer

The wedding venue 'Hoiana Resort and Golf' is located about 20 minutes from Hoi An ancient town. The closest international airport is Da Nang, which is ~1 hour drive to the venue. You may also fly in and out of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh, however you'd still need to connect into Da Nang for the wedding. ○ Da Nang - beach city, abundant seafood, good vibes ○ Ancient town of Hoi An - lanterns, custom/tailored anything ○ Hanoi - cultural city, great eats, mix of old and new ○ Ho Chi Minh - big city, great shopping, trendy fashions, nightlife

Question

Where should i stay?

Answer

We all know Ed is a loyal Marriott member, but there are many options available in the Hoi An area. The venue, Hoiana Resort & Golf is an option, but priced on the higher end of what may be available. The Bride and Groom will be staying at the Hoiana on Feb 25 & 26, but don’t feel the need to stay here. If you do choose to stay at Hoiana, they have 4 different properties on the resort so you have choices! Otherwise, don’t be afraid to try out the villas, and vast amounts of BnBs nearby or in the town of Hoi An, as getting around is very easy and affordable with Grab.

Question

airport to hotel transfers

Answer

Hoiana Resort offers complimentary airport shuttle for guests staying on the property, so be sure to check with the hotel to arrange it in advance. If you’re staying elsewhere, your hotel may also provide a free or low-cost transfer option. Otherwise, the easiest method is to book a Grab from Da Nang Airport, which takes about 45–60 minutes and is reliable, priced at ~$30 CAD. In general, we recommend Grab (similar to Uber) for all your travels in any Vietnamese city. It is safe, reliable and well priced, generally ~$5 CAD per ride in the cities. Make sure you download the app before your flight to Vietnam as it's the easiest method of transportation in the country.

Question

IMMIGRATION FAST TRACK (HCMC)

Answer

Tan Son Nhat airport (Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon), is known for its ridiculously long immigration lines (when flying internationally), upwards of 2 to 3 hours depending on time of day. If you are inclined to do so, there are options for immigration fast track by paying a small fee ($30 pp) to an agency. Feel free to Google ‘Tan Son Nhat airport fast track’ for options. There are similar options for other airports, but those airports are likely nowhere near the wait time of Tan Son Nhat.

Question

What should I do for WiFi/data?

Answer

Check with your cell provider for options. Alternatively, we're using Airalo to stay connected when we travel. Use our referral code LEANNA3903 to get CAD $4.50 off your first eSIM, or open this link: https://airalo.go.link/jVwea

Question

What are the methods of payment in Vietnam?

Answer

Obviously, cash is always king (we take out cash at ATMs using our Canadian debit), many major restaurants and shops will take international credit cards. Our recommendation is to hold some Vietnamese Dong (cash) for spending, but you should be able to get by okay with credit cards.
