It all started in the most unexpected way—at work. When we first met as coworkers, let’s just say… it wasn’t exactly love at first sight. We were placed in the same classroom, where the teacher we worked with once joked that we “fought like a married couple.” At the time, we couldn’t have imagined how prophetic those words would turn out to be. We swapped stories that made each other laugh until we cried, built a collection of inside jokes, and somehow always ended up side by side at every work event (pure coincidence… or maybe fate?). Outside of Tequila Sunrise, Luigi walked Allison to her car and kissed her for the first time. Even then, we kept our distance—hesitant to cross the lines of a workplace friendship. But fate had other plans. Years passed, and though life led us in different directions, we always seemed to find our way back to each other. In September 2021, we both started new career paths—unbeknownst to us, at the same place. It felt like the universe was nudging us forward. This time, we couldn’t ignore it. We let ourselves fall. We went on real dates, opened our hearts, and slowly, beautifully, we fell in love. A year and a half later, we moved in together and began building the life we once never saw coming.
