Her story: During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was not looking for anything. However, it all changed when I randomly clicked on Facebook Dating one day in June 2020. I first saw Danny, and noticed we had a lot in common & we matched! We started to text each other and continued doing that for the next 10 months. And then, on May 22nd, 2021, we finally saw each other for the first time in Ridgewood in between Confirmation masses I was singing for! I remember feeling so happy just because of knowing this guy really said who he was. We walked to The Office for lunch & it felt like time did not exist, our conversations were so natural. We walked in strangers, left as a couple & I am the luckiest to have Danny as part of my life. His story: Online dating is hard and when the COVID lockdown happened, it seemed to make the process only that much more difficult. It was around this time that I had started to feel like it was impossible and I would never meet someone. Due to this line of thinking, I started deleting the online Apps and ways to connect with people, with the exception of one. For some reason, still unknown to me, I held on to Facebook dating. It turned out to be perfect timing as not that long after these thoughts and actions I was notified that Leann sent me a message. It didn’t take long for me to see that we had a lot in common and it felt so good to send and receive messages from her. Figures I’d finally find someone I was interested in and had to stay away from them. When we met for that first lunch, words can’t really describe the relief and joy I felt that I had just spent ten months building something that was actually going to be real. I don’t know what I would have done if Leann didn’t message her way into my life, but I am very lucky that she did.
