We were actually set up on a blind date by mutual friends when we were both in college. Alex was hesitant to be set up but her friends convinced her to go (thank goodness for some good friends!). We went to Jacksonville, FL with Chris' fraternity where we ate dinner and then went to a Jaguars game! It turned out to be a pretty great blind date after all. Chris stayed in touch after the blind date and took Alex to all of her favorite restaurants (aka four rivers and taco bell) and the rest was history! We spent our years together at UF with friends and making memories we will always cherish -- sweaty game days at the Swamp, drinking cheap doubles in midtown, late study nights at DZ, and squeezing together in our one person hammock at Paynes Prairie. After college, Chris got a job in Dallas, TX. We did a year of long distance and that was more than enough for both of us. When COVID-19 hit, Chris decided to bring a little sunshine to the lonely, isolated days of quarantine and asked Alex to marry him on Mount Bonnell in Austin, TX. It ended up being a huge surprise to Alex and a backup plan for Chris (another long story) but it was the perfect day. We have been the best of friends for 8 years and we are so excited to officially be husband and wife!
