Maid of Honor
Brooke and I go wayyy back, all the way to about 5 years before we were both born! Our parents were great friends and so whether we liked it or not, we were one of each others first and closest family friends! As high school turned into college (& Brooke followed me to Samford 😉), our friendship deepened into so much more-roomies, travel buddies, dating coaches (her for me at least!!). She’s truly the sister I never had! Could not be more grateful to have Brooke as a best friend, and to stand by her side as she marries the love of her life!!
Best Man
I’m Evan, Blake's younger, taller, funnier, and arguably better-looking brother. I have known Blake literally all my life, and I’ve been causing trouble for him just as long as a little brother does. From Mario Kart on the couch, gaming till the sunrise, and trampoline fights, to throwing dice and drinking brews, fights on the mat, and rolling death saves in sessions of dungeons and dragons, a lifetime of fighting each other (and him usually winning) has led us to a strong brotherly rivalry that seems to persist in everything we do. Seeing him persevere over a lifetime of obstacles to get to where he is today is truly a blessing, and I’m beyond thankful he let me share it with him on their day. Love to both you and Brooke always. P.S. I make no promises about not crying during the proceedings.

I'm from El Segundo, CA, but currently live in Nashville, TN! I met Brooke in 6th grade and we were basically inseparable from then on. Although our friendship almost ended once over a quesadilla, here we are 18 years later stronger than ever. We live states apart (and have for the last 10 years), but each time we pick up the phone to catch up, it's like she's right there in the room with me and no time has passed at all. She stood by my side on my wedding day and I'm so thankful I get to stand by her on her special day!

I've had the pleasure of knowing Blake since 2018 when he first stepped through my door for a study session with my wife Andrea and a few other nursing school students. Little did I know I'd be getting a second hand nursing degree over the next 2 years as they took over the living room and TV! Over the years Blake and I bonded over surfing, nutrition, drums, Jocko quotes, and our mutual enjoyment of pondering some of life's more perplexing questions. Blake is a guy you want in your corner when life gets tough. His commitment and work ethic are unwavering and most importantly, his heart for others and for Jesus is unmatched. Blake, it's an honor to get to stand with you as you make this vow with Brooke. The Cox family loves you guys! Chris Cox (AKA S.C)

I’m Katy P. and Brooke is my confidence coach. After meeting literally everyone else in her family, Brooke and I finally met at a BBQ where she decided we needed to be friends and have been ever since! I’m a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur, love a good whale fact and thoroughly enjoy talking Survivor with Brooke and Teri (mother of the bride), in the hopes I will also one day be starving and crying over reward challenges. And Brooke, she is so fun, like, so fun, she makes up games within games, has an endless well of knowledge, goes after what she wants not stopping until she gets it and is a phenomenal happy hour pal. She truly is the most confident person I know and invites everyone into the party that is her life. So honored to be a part of that Yoder/Hogoboom love party and thrilled that Blake and Brooke get to shine their light together forevvvvvvvveer!

Blake and I have been great buddies since junior high. We have done everything from working the same job to summer lake trips to college shenanigans and everything in between. We’ve been buddies through all of his phases from the emo phase, the vegan phase and now the male nurse phase. All joking aside I’m super happy for you and your future with Brooke. Screaming bear cheese Blake man.

Hi, I'm Jess! I met Brooke five years ago when I moved to California from Ohio. Our families were already connected through my husband, and Brooke was instrumental in helping me settle in. She helped me land my first job here and truly took me under her wing, making my transition smooth and welcoming. Brooke’s kindness, fun spirit, and generosity made a significant impact on my life, and she quickly became one of mayo closest friends. What I love most about Brooke is her incredible ability to gather people together and her ever-positive attitude. She truly is a joy and a blessing to everyone around her, and I am so grateful for her friendship.

Blake and I first got to know each other as ambulance drivers (this is the preferred term), before fate would bring us together for the trials of nursing school. Once there, a true bond of friendship was forged in a fire hotter than a bedpan straight out of the autoclave. Our friendship continued to grow when a certain central coast hospital had the bright idea to hire both of us into the ICU as new grad nurses. I still remember the night he crashed a hospital bed into the wall, leaving a massive hole (don't worry, his patient was already in a vegetative state). We both left the ICU and attempted to start a business together, yet despite being professional butt wipers, we couldn't tell our posterior from our elbow when it came to entrepreneurship. Throughout all of our struggles, set-backs, and let downs, Blake was always there to crack a joke or commiserate with. And when we did score a win, his infectious positivity and contagious laugh was sure to bring the party to life. I know few men who are as kind, loyal, and driven (the occasional errant hospital bed notwithstanding), which is why I'm honored to call him my friend and ecstatic to be celebrating his wedding. Love you buddy, here's to you and Brooke!

I’m so grateful to have met Brooke a few years ago through a group of young adults in Santa Barbara. Our friendship has grown through summer days at the beach, fun nights out dancing, commiserating about the confusing world of online dating (which ultimately led us both to our husbands!!!), and most recently as roommates during Brooke and Blake’s early dating days and my season of engagement! Brooke is one of the easiest people to be around - joyful, adventurous, confident, gracious, and generous. It’s been so fun to watch Brooke and Blake grow together, and it’s SUCH an honor to continue walking with them as they say yes to forever!

I have known Blake for the last 20 years since we met in junior high. I’ve had the pleasure of watching him grow into the man he is today. Like most men, the growth took place over a considerable number of years, and we learned many life lessons through various life experiences. Together, we have conquered early morning surf sessions, experimented with some interesting hair dye choices, overcome broken ankles, and collectively lost nearly one million golf balls. While all those adventures were fun and we created countless great memories, I have never seen Blake as happy as he is when he looks at Brooke. I'm grateful for the opportunity to get to know her through him. Blake has been an amazing friend to me and has become a remarkable man. I’m excited to see the life Blake and Brooke will build together because I know it will be special.

Hey guys! My name is Amanda. A little about me- Likes long walks on the beach. Well built. A great hugger. Okay, so how do I know Brooke? Funny you’d ask. It all started with nursing school where I made friends with a man named Balake. Then he met Brooke and I was like- ohh this chick is cool, punctual, and wears the cutest overalls. He scored. Very soon after I met her, Brooke let me live with her during a very stressful time in my life. From watching masterchef, to game night girlies, to setting up children’s ministry sleep deprived on Sunday mornings- we had the best time. Brooke will always be my Gilmore girl ;) I am so grateful to have grown this friendship with Brooke and Blake and excited for the union of these two wonderful people!

I met Blake in junior high and we quickly became good friends. He started learning to play bass the same time I was learning to play guitar and we would often play together. Our group of friends would also go over to his house to airsoft or skateboard. I have been lucky to stay friends with him after all these years. Blake introduced my wife and I to Brooke at my parents’ house, where we found out she also loved playing board games. She fit in with our group immediately. Blake often talked about how he couldn’t wait to get married one day and I am very excited he found the person he wants to do that with.

I met Brooke when she visited Santa Barbara and (lucky for me) decided to stay! Whether it's taking up a booth at Riviera bar, volleyball, lazy beach days, or moving her 12,344 plant babies, laughter and joy follow Brooke everywhere. I met Blake before one of their first dates, and when he jumped up to grab a card game from his car, I knew he was a keeper. It has been amazing to spend time with both Brooke and Blake and see their love grow. I can't wait to celebrate this next chapter of their forever together!

My name is Anthony Joseph Sarena, friends may call me Tony, or more officially The Man on the Silver Mountain, The Holy Diver, The Last in Line, titles, titles, etc... I met Blake Yoder in 7th grade English class at Goleta Valley when we both thought sagging pants and later on tight pants were still cool (I prefer slim fit now). We've prospered and suffered through phases of blacked out emo haircuts and metalcore, before I taught Blake what real metal is. Joking aside, it has been a tremendous blessing to grow up and watch the man Blake has become, with his admirable work ethic, similar dark sense of humor, and reliability and generosity. I can't thank him enough for giving me the opportunity to stand by him on the day he celebrates the love of his life Brooke. There's a full send in the forecast for this blessed day. Time to set the tone!
