I was a high school teacher in Orangeburg, he was the phone repair guy at a battery store in Greenwood. We both figured there had to be something more to life. He picked me up at my mom's house in Newberry and took me out for calzones and milkshakes. We shared our favourite playlists, watched Mel Brooks movies, and determined we had struck gold. Countless Rosh Hashanahs, Sonic runs, late night shows out of town, movies, game nights, rounds of whiplash and dinners at Mi Pueblo later, he proposed to me at a choir concert. And that's the story of how we got to #TheWoodardWedding.
