Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

You should plan to arrive 20 minutes before the ceremony. The doors will close 10 minutes before the ceremony begins. Transporation details to and from the ceremony and reception (same location) will be provided. If you are late you can join the cocktail hour after the ceremony.

Question

Will there be any group activities or gatherings before the wedding?

Answer

We are having an intimate rehearsal dinner on Thursday and then you can find us out and about on the island! If you are also coming into town the night before the wedding be sure to let us know and we can provide details closer to the date. For a fun Thursday activity, try and find one of our bath-time (rubber duck) friends around Tybee and use our hashtag the #TheWilsonsTakeTybee to share your treasure hunt adventure!

Question

What is the weather typically like during September?

Answer

The weather on Tybee Island during mid September is usually awesome, with daytime highs in the low to mid-80s (°F) and nighttime temperatures in the mid-60s to low 70s. You can expect some humidity and the possibility of scattered afternoon thunderstorms, though rain is usually brief. It's a great time of year to enjoy the beach with a slight chance of cooler breezes, especially in the evenings.

Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

While there are parking spots available at the venue, we want everyone to have a good time and be safe. In addition, the venue will tow any vehicles left after the end of the wedding. There will be shuttle transportation information available before the wedding day, as well as cab companies and Ubers (limited) to transport you to and from at your convenience.

Question

Will there be any group activities or gatherings after the wedding?

Answer

YES! Saturday, the 20th we plan to hang out on the beach by the pier all day! We hope you can stay and enjoy what September on Tybee has to offer! Planning our wedding is our top priority, so details on our newlywed beach bash are TBD!

Question

Where is the nearest airport?

Answer

The nearest airport to Tybee Island is Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV), which is about 45 minutes away by car. If you are traveling by plane, you can fly into SAV, where you’ll find plenty of rental cars, taxis, and ride-shares available. Be sure to book your flights early, especially since September is a popular travel time in Savannah!

Question

What should we bring?

Answer

Yourself, your date, and your favorite dancing shoes! We also recommend bringing your ID if you would like to be served alcoholic beverages.

Question

How did you pick your venue?

Answer

Brian found the Chapel on an online search, and after one visit we knew it was perfect! What made it even more perfect is it's history. In 2009, Sam was visiting Tybee, but the beach was blocked off, for the filming of a Miley Cyrus movie, The Last Song (2010). The "Chapel" was built for the filming of the movie on the island and later moved to it's location on the marsh where we will get married! Update - The Tybee Island Wedding Chapel has been purchased! The new owners named the venue The Chapel by the Sea. We can't wait to party with you!

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Once we send out our formal invitations, you will be able to RSVP on our website anytime before July 1, 2025. We will not be mailing separate RSVP cards so please be sure to digitally reply on this site as soon as you can.
