It all started in 2012... We were both set on attending The University of South Alabama & were getting prepared for college. The summer before college, everyone was getting acquainted on Twitter (#USA16). We officially met in July at freshmen orientation, and neither of us were interested in pursuing a relationship with each other. Over the next year, we became best friends. We became each other's safe haven. Random car rides, where we would sing our hearts out and talk for hours became our normal routines. We would make midnight trips to Krispy Kreme (Hello, hot sign), Taco Bell, or whoever else was open...& while all of our friends were suspicious that something was going on, we had no idea. One day, Aaliyah got sick (college diets suck), and Jacobi dropped off medicine and Hot Chocolate. At that point, Aaliyah knew she wanted a man just like Jacobi, but was still slightly oblivious, and Jacobi was convinced that he was simply doing a favor for a friend. This was officially the night both of our friends called us out. After months of constant denial, on December 19, 2013, things became official. & After 4 years, with 2 of those years being long distance, Jacobi moved to Birmingham and proposed to Aaliyah on Christmas Eve '17. We are beyond excited to share our next step on this beautiful journey with each of you as we become Mr. and Mrs. Williams!! ♥️
Cobi moved to Birmingham around mid December of 2017. We were both in transition to new jobs, and getting adjusted to being in the same city. During the week before Christmas, Cobi was being very strange and kept using phrases like "I got what you wanted," and "whatever you do don't look in my glove compartment." Smooth right? So as my curiosity peeked, I've gone to my new job telling everyone I'm getting engaged soon. I even had my friend go with me to pick out nail colors. I went home that night to show Cobi my nails, and he noticed my ring finger was a different color. He then convinced me that he didn't get me a ring, but that he got me something else instead. Needless to say, I cried that entire day and didn't speak to him (lol). The next day was Christmas Eve, and he decided to call one of my best friends to take pictures of us...Cobi HATES taking pictures so at that moment I knew something was up. We went over to my mom's for dinner and when we began taking pictures, my family rushed into the living room because they "wanted to see the pictures." Suspicious? Yes. Next thing I know, my baby brother is calling my dad on Facetime, and my other mother (mother-in-law to be) was on Facetime as well. I turned around to ask what they had going on, to see Cobi down on one knee. & the rest has led us to forever....
