We're getting married!

In the seventh grade I had a crush on a goofy kid with a head too big for his body who wore his white socks up to his knees. I teased him, he teased me and we always made each other laugh. We "dated" for a few months and in 2009 we shared our first kiss standing by our locker.s Neither of us admitted it at the time, but it was the first ever kiss for both of us. Little did we know we would still be kissing each other 12 years later. As seventh grade relationships go, we broke up. But throughout the years, we remained friends; the kind of friends that could always count on each other for a laugh or a pick-me-up. The loud, outgoing little girl and the kind, goofy boy grew up, but we always found our way back to each other...

In the late Summer of 2020, we finally made it to the west coast for a much needed vacation. We flew to San Diego, California and spent the week laying on the beaches and hiking through the mountains on the coast, On August 24th, after spending the day relaxing by the ocean and the pool, Cory planned a nice dinner for us. We got dressed up and went to dinner at a seafood restaurant on the water in Coronado Beach. We shared delicious food, drinks and dessert. After dinner, Cory suggested that we take a walk along the beach. The sun had set and the moon lit our path. As we were walking along the water, Cory said "Shay, you know that you're my best friend in the entire world. You're the person that I can tell absolutely anything to," And like the smart ass that I am, I said "Oh yeah? Even your deepest darkest secret?" Cory responded "Yeah, do you want to know what it is?". He pulled out the ring box and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together. The rest is history.
