How We Met

February 2022

We met how most people meet during a pandemic... on a dating app. Thanks Bumble! We talked for a couple weeks and went out on our first date at the Italian Kitchen in Spokane on March 4th 2022. Supposedly, Morgan thought he would not get a second date since I allegedly turned him down to go to a movie afterwards (which I did not recall… could have been the nerves! 😜). Meanwhile I had gotten home from the date that night and immediately told my sister and brother-in-law that I was going to marry that man one day. And now look where we are ❤️ From that day on we were inseparable. Spending every weekend and spare moment together. I think we both knew pretty early on that we were going to be in each others lives from now on. Each day falling more and more in love and taking on each adventure together with a smile and lots of laughs.

The Proposal

7.15.23

Morgan proposed on July 15th, 2024 on top of Moore Mountain in Kettle Falls WA. A very special place for him growing up, and now a very special place for both of us. We got engaged on the back deck of Mary Lou and Cleo Just's Cabin overlooking the Columbia River and Mountains in North Eastern Washington and Canada. Thinking we were "just taking family pictures for Mary Lou's birthday" I was quite surprised when everyone dispersed and Morgan (nervously) got down on one knee with the most gorgeous ring in his hand. And in the most sincere voice with tears in his eyes said something along the lines of “Megan Chrystine Thaiss, I would really like to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” (I don’t remember the rest of what he said and no one got it on video but this is close enough, lol.) Overwhelmed with so much joy and excitement and trying to contain myself and stop crying, it took me a moment to realize I still had not said anything back to him or let him put the ring on my finger. Morgan admitted he got a little nervous I was going to say no because I took so long to answer him. There was so much going on at the time even after he put the ring on my finger, he still had to ask me “Well is that a yes then?” in which I replied “Yeah, duh!” (Excuse the photos of the engagement I couldn’t stop crying and someone should have told me to take my hands off of my face.. haha. But I had to share them because it was such a special moment.)
