April 2026: Isaac and I met through a mutual friend (Teagan) after a City/County golf tournament at Fields Ferry. While we waited to be dismissed from the rained out tournament, I decided to talk to him. I thought he wanted nothing to do with me since he said he doesn’t text, call, or have social media. Surely, I thought, he just politely rejected me. After we heard the results and were dismissed, Teagan told him to take his umbrella and walk me to my car since the storm had worsened. To this day, it has been the kindest gesture toward me. April 26th, 2016: After our tournament, we did not talk and continued our lives. Later that week, I played a tournament that caused me to be severely dehydrated while on the course. I recovered and finished the tournament, but I was weary of performing with my chorus group at Dessert Theater the next day (locking my legs, getting dizzy). My chorus teacher encouraged me to rest. However, my best friend Emily was performing that night and encouraged me to come watch her. I went to the performance but did not perform. I was sad since it was my senior year performance, and I was not able to perform with my chorus friends. However, visiting the dessert table, I saw him, the boy from the golf tournament. I told Emily that I was going to go sit with him and talk to him while watching the performances. I did not expect him to remember me at all. I figured I would have to reintroduce myself fully. Once I went up to him, I did not expect us to have interesting, easy, enjoyable, and funny conversations with one another the entire night. He made me feel seen and cared for in such a short amount of time. Once my friend went up on stage to perform, my phone’s storage filled up (not suprised). I quickly asked him to give me his phone, so I could get pictures and videos for her. He did not hesitate and later I had to get his number, so I could get the pictures and videos. Once we got home, he sent the pictures and videos and continued to text and call the rest of the night. Before going to bed, he asked me to his prom that was the following weekend, and I said yes. That night started our very long, happy, and adventurous relationship.
