What weather should we expect?

Answer

In Lake Charles, Louisiana, late February and early March offer pleasant conditions with average highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s and 50s. While comfortable for outdoor activities, it's wise to pack layers as temperatures can fluctuate. A light sweater or jacket will be useful for evenings. We will provide an indoor area for inclement weather, as well as heaters if the weather is chillier than normal. Sometimes Louisiana likes to be temperamental with her weather; we will do our best to have a solution for all possibilities.

How should I get there?

Answer

Having a car to get around town will be the easiest option. Lake Charles (15 min) and Lafayette (1.5 hrs) do have a small commercial airports for ease of access; Houston and New Orleans also have multiple options but will be 2.5 - 3.5 hours outside of Lake Charles.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding will be Semi-Formal. Our wedding colors are jewel tones, so embrace your inner Mardi Gras king or queen and dress your best! The ceremony and reception will be held on paved brick flooring, so bring comfy dancing shoes!

When is the deadline to RSVP?

Answer

We request an RSVP response by January 17th, so that we can give an accurate count to our vendors.

Can I bring my children or a plus one?

Answer

We would love to celebrate with all of our loved ones, but due to limited space, we kindly ask that only those whose names are listed on the invitation attend. If you would like to check with the couple, please reach out to ask.

What time does the ceremony begin?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin at 4:30pm in the courtyard. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to give yourselves ample time to take your seats. Cocktails and yard games will be available immediately following ceremony while the Bride and Groom finish portrait photos. Reception will start at 5:45pm with dinner and dancing to follow.

Can we take photos?

Answer

Our ceremony will be an unplugged ceremony. We have hired an amazing photographer who understands our wedding vision and will be responsible for capturing memories to cherish for years to come. Phone photography will be welcome during the reception, and a shared album will be available for guests to upload their photos for the bride and groom. Please be mindful of our photographer while she is capturing photos we have requested throughout the evening.

Will the wedding be inside or outside?

Answer

Barring no ill weather, our ceremony will be held outdoors followed by our cocktail hour. Reception flow will continue indoors and outdoors.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We will be providing his&hers drink options, as well as a limited selection of beer and wine. When RSVPing, please let the bride and groom know your drink preferences. There will not be transportation provided to/from the venue; Uber services are usually plentiful for the Lake Charles area if needed at the end of the night.
