“It’ll happen when you least expect it”

Garrett and I had been in a place where relationships continued to fail, we had honestly given up; accepted that whatever was going to happen, would happen. Neither of us were prepared for what was to come. November 28, we both went to a mutual friend’s celebration and spotted one another. I saw his tattoos and when he spoke, I was extremely attracted to him (minus his terrible shoes). After days of telling our friend that I was interested in Garrett, I finally got his number and texted him right away. Once we started talking, it was exciting and I couldn’t wait to officially meet him. Despite all the failed relationships before, this felt different. It was December 1, 2022 and after a few days of communicating via text, Garrett had finally asked me out. I met him in Frederick, MD at his friend’s townhouse. I remember walking up to meet him and thinking “I hope he doesn’t drive a lame car..” & sure enough, he did not.. he picked me up in his big work truck. Once I hopped in, we decided to drive up the mountain, get coffee and just talk. Normally, I made sure to be in a public setting after meeting with a new guy.. however, there was something about Garrett that made me feel safe. We had an absolute blast! The conversation just flowed, we had the same sense of humor (which if you know me, is hard to find), he made me laugh, and I was growing more and more infatuated with him. As we drove down the mountain to grab some food, he asked if I wanted to go anywhere, I told him I wanted to keep driving.. it was so easy and fun with him.. I didn’t want the night to be over! Once the night was over, however, we planned to meet again the following day. I honestly don’t even remember what we did that night, besides having our first kiss! I was walking out to leave, standing next to my car & we went to say goodbye. Garrett put his hand on my cheek, pulled me in & kissed me! We were so in sync, it felt so right! Once I started driving home, I immediately started to cry. Happy cry. I felt it, this was it. Garrett was the ONE! It only took 2 dates for me to realize it. 2 weeks in.. Garrett told his friends the same thing, he knew he was going to marry me! It wasn’t even a month or so later that we had a conversation regarding our feelings for one another, that Garrett came to my job one day..& we said it, “I Love You!” Garrett and I had finally met our person. It wasn’t too long after that, that I moved to Frederick with him, we got pregnant!! & after having our beautiful son.. he proposed! I truly couldn’t have asked for a better man and we are SO excited to celebrate our love in front of our amazing friends and family. I can’t wait to finally be Mrs. Webb, and I know Garrett can’t wait to call me his wife and not have me say “I’m not your wife yet!” “It’ll happen when you least expect it,” couldn’t be more true for our relationship & we are both so grateful for that.
