Our story begins almost nine years ago during our time at the University of Texas at Austin. Our paths may have never crossed had Ashley not lived with Kimberly, her Maid of Honor, and Garrett with his Groomsman, Robert. While living in Austin, the four of us were always in the same circle of friends doing everything together. This brought us years of shared memories, laughter, and friendship that would later prove to be an even greater blessing than we could have imagined at the time. While Robert and Kimberly were an obvious match from the start, it took Garrett a little longer to realize the girl of his dreams had been right in front of him all along. After graduating, Garrett moved back to Houston while Ashley stayed in Austin. As time went on and our group of friends continued to gather, the feelings we had for each other began to shine through. Knowing he was completely in love with her, Garrett asked Ashley to be his girlfriend on June 4, 2022. The only problem was that we now had to leave the best pieces of ourselves three hours away, but our bond was stronger than all the miles combined. For two years, weekends of travel were traded off while our love for each other only grew stronger. It truly was the best time we never wanted to have again. In the summer of 2024, Ashley finally made the move to Houston and every day since has been the greatest blessing of our lives. The best of all our days together has to be October 17, 2025 on a trip to Colorado Springs when Garrett got down on one knee and asked Ashley to marry him. The idea of spending forever together is just as exciting now as it was then, and we both know that will never fade. We cannot wait to begin this next chapter of our lives together, and we feel so grateful for those who brought us together, supported us along the way, and will be there to celebrate with us on April 3, 2027!
