Me and Robert went to high school in the same stake in San Antonio and even though he says he “always had a crush on me”, we only interacted maybe three times. Robert went on his mission to Ecuador during the summer of 2022 and I finished high school and moved up to Utah to go to BYU. When Robert got home from his mission in 2024, he moved up to Utah to attend BYU as well. According to Robert, he would think about me periodically on his mission (I don’t know how much I believe that haha), so when he came home, he knew he wanted to take me out. He, along with help from his best friends and sister, made a plan to DM me on Instagram, and on October 7, he finally made a move and messaged me. I initially thought he was just a returned missionary wanting to make friends, but quickly realized he was trying to slide in. On October 11, we went on our first date! We went to Swig and drove the Alpine Loop! It was so fun talking about everyone we knew from San Antonio, and I enjoyed hearing all the drama from his mission. We went on two more dates on the 19th, and the 21st. On October 23rd we had our first kiss in the parking lot of my brother and sister in laws apartment after watching Dancing With the Stars! He left the next day to go to Florida, and I went to Texas for the weekend. That is when I realized he was perfect for me and I better not screw this up. We started dating on November 2nd, and have been inseparable ever since. On March 29, Robert proposed, and it was absolutely perfect! He told me we were going to Heber for dinner that night, and on the way there, he said we needed to stop by his parents’ neighborhood to grab some tags for his car. After picking them up, he suggested taking a walk up the golf course. We had done this walk before, so it wasn’t totally out of the ordinary, but I had a feeling I knew what was about to happen. When we reached the spot he had set up, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was the most perfect setup, and truly the best day ever!
