Formal attire is requested. Gentlemen are encouraged to wear a suit and tie, while ladies are encouraged to wear long or floor-length dresses. Please dress respectfully for a Catholic church ceremony. We can't wait to see everyone dressed up for a beautiful day!
We recommend arriving 15–30 minutes early to allow time for seating before the ceremony begins. The Nuptial Mass will begin promptly at 2:00pm.
McKenna and Miguel are both practicing Catholics, and marriage is considered a Sacrament in the Catholic Church. A Nuptial Mass is a Catholic wedding ceremony that takes place within a full Mass, which is the Church’s traditional way of celebrating the Sacrament of Marriage. In addition to the exchange of vows, the ceremony will include Scripture readings, prayers, and the celebration of the Eucharist (Communion). If you’re not familiar with a Catholic Mass, please know there is no expectation to participate beyond your comfort level. We’re simply grateful to have you there to witness and celebrate with us.
In the Catholic faith, we believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, which is why receiving Communion is considered a Sacrament. Because of this, the Church asks that those who receive Communion be practicing Catholics who are properly prepared. Guests who are not Catholic, who do not regularly practice the faith, or who simply prefer not to receive Communion are welcome to remain seated during this portion of the Mass. If you’d like to come forward for a blessing instead, you may do so by crossing your arms over your chest, and the priest will be happy to offer one. There is no pressure or expectation either way - we are just happy to have you with us!
We kindly ask that no photos be taken during the Nuptial Mass so everyone can participate fully in the ceremony. Feel free to take photos and share your memories during cocktail hour and at the reception!
