Mini-buses are relatively cheap and are the only form of local public transport. They run only on the main routes. For other journeys, taxis are available or you can hire a car. Driving is on the left. There are no Ubers on the island. Overall, restaurants and bars are all walking distance from the Marriott. http://www.explorecayman.com/transport Also Hertz and Alamo have location on the island.

No, US cash and major credit cards are accepted everywhere on the island, and at the same exchange rate as at the local banks. Currency in the Cayman Islands is ALSO called 'dollar' so be aware when looking at menus and when shopping. (CI$) is worth US$1.25 -- US$1.00 is worth CI$0.80. This is a fixed rate, not subject to currency market fluctuations. We suggest that you reconvert any CI$ you have left into US$ before departing, as not all banks outside of the Cayman Islands will purchase our currency.
We will all be staying at the Marriott, which includes free wifi so feel free to reach out to on iMessage (for iPhones), Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger, DM Instagram, or calling each other's room number.
The Cayman Islands may be a British colony and drive on the left, but they are American when it comes to power, so bring US plugs.
You are more than welcome to rent a car if you'd like to explore the island, but renting a car is not a must and unnecessary. The Marriott is located in a very central location and many things are walking distance from the resort. If you do rent a car, most car rental companies are located within walking distance from the airport. Also, don't forget you will be driving on the left side of the road!
