We're Getting Married!

Matt and Lauren were both Freshmen at Central Michigan University when they first met. Matt lived in Merrill Hall with Jessica, Lauren's sister, as his RA and Lauren lived next door in Sweeney Hall. When Lauren became friends with some Merrill girls during Powder Puff football, it was determined they were going to meet boys together. Little did she know she'd soon be introduced to her future husband! One night hanging out in Merrill, the girls had some boys over... Enter Matt. Matt popped right down on the futon next to Lauren and started showing her some silly music video kids from his high school had made. Lauren was impressed, not with the video (it was pretty lame), but with how HOT this kid was! That night, when the boys left, Lauren told her friends, "I call dibs on that Matt kid". Matt felt the same about Lauren. After a fling that eventually wore off, they'd still spend the rest of college staying in touch, looking for each other in the cafeteria, and wondering what could have been. Even after CMU, they remained close friends. Fast-forward 10 years down the road, Matt had moved to Lauren's hometown and Lauren had moved back home after working in Grand Rapids. If this wasn't divine intervention, we're not sure what is. All these years, Lauren's prayers that they would reconnect were finally answered. Matt and Lauren reconnected, dated, went on a fantastic 2 week cross country road trip together, and not once got sick of each other! These love birds were so hopelessly head over heels for each other, an engagement was undeniably soon to be. A little over a year of dating, on November 21, 2021 (also known as Matt's 28th birthday) Matt proposed to Lauren during a vacation in Charlotte, NC. Both in Charlotte and at the airport flying home, family was there to wrap their arms around these two and celebrate the next milestone of their love story. Great things take time and God always has a plan...even if it takes 10 years to happen. These two aren't going anywhere.
