Allison and Adam’s story began right down the street from each other, in the kind of way that only makes sense looking back. As childhood neighbors, Allison and Adam’s paths were always closer than they realized. They first met in third grade when Adam was over at Allison’s house with her older brother. Adam was neighbors with Danny’s friend down the street, and the group had all ended up hanging out at the Heise home. Allison came home from gymnastics practice and walked halfway down the basement stairs to see Adam sitting on the swing in her basement, already knowing who he was from hearing about him through school. It was a simple, ordinary moment that quietly became the start of everything! By fourth grade, Adam had moved into Allison’s school system, and from there their lives became even more intertwined. They rode the same bus together, shared everyday routines, and by fifth grade found themselves in the same class. During that time, when Allison was in the hospital, their childhood friendship shifted into something more... Adam even asked Allison to be his girlfriend through Facebook messages while she was still in the hospital, a memory that has stayed with them ever since. From that point on, they grew up side by side. Through middle school and high school, they shared classes, sat next to each other (so Adam could copy off of Allison’s work), and moved through every season of life together. Adam, the quarterback, and Allison, his cheerleader, were part of each other’s world in the most natural way. And even while Allison spent years writing in her childhood diaries about her crush on Adam, she never imagined just how far their story would go. Finally, during fall of senior year, Adam asked Allison to be his girlfriend, after years of friendship and a love that had been quietly growing long before either of them set it out loud. When they went off to college, Allison to the University of Cincinnati and Adam to Ohio University, they entered a new chapter that tested everything they had built. After time apart and growing pains, they found their way back to each other during freshman year winter break, and from that moment on, they chose each other completely. Long distance became weekend visits, late-night drives, and a love that only deepened with time. During sophomore year, Adam made the decision to move to Cincinnati to be closer to Allison, and from then on, they built a life together in a new city, growing not just as a couple but as best friends. Through every season that followed, including Allison’s journey into PA school, there was never a question of making it work— just a shared understanding that they would. No matter the distance or sacrifices ahead, Adam was always ready to go wherever life took her. After Allison accepted the invitation for her PA program, they moved into their first apartment and began what felt like their first real chapter of home together. What Allison didn’t know was that Adam had already asked for her parents’ blessing and surprised her grandparents by showing them the ring, a gesture that meant everything to her and her family. Just one month after moving in together, Adam brought Allison to the house between their childhood homes, the place where Adam watched her catch the school bus as a kid and also where they shared their very first kiss. There, he surprised her with a proposal that brought every part of their story full circle. Allison and Adam have been together for over seven years, though their story began long before that. From neighbors to childhood friends, from classmates to best friends, and finally to partners in life, they have grown up together in every sense of the word. What started as something small became a love built on years of friendship, patience, and growing up side by side. They cannot wait to begin this next chapter as husband and wife, surrounded by the people who have loved and supported their story from the very beginning.
