Yes. Yes, we are. However we were never married in church, something we found to be important to both of us. Now we have 10 years of marriage under our belts, we want to strengthen our union on a spiritual level, and confirm our commitment to each other as a truly lifelong one.
It's typically a 40-45 min ceremony, held in a Ukrainian Orthodox Church. It starts with the blessing of the rings, then we will hold the candles while the priest reads prayers for the marriage. The ceremony will continue with the crowning, in which two crowns, joined by a ribbon, are placed on our heads. The final part is circling around the altar area and traditional blessings. Overall, it's short and very intimate! More here: https://www.theknot.com/content/eastern-orthodox-wedding-ceremony-rituals
Our rule is simple: if our kid can come, so can yours! We'd be delighted if your entire family joins us in celebration. You can decide whether the little ones attend the ceremony or just the celebratory lunch - please let us know!
Nope. But, we have one item in our registry - which is a donation to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in which 3 out of 5 Darya's cousins serve right now. Also, you don't need to wait till the wedding to contribute anything you'd like to support our fight for freedom.
Yes. Please let us know on the invite what they are and we'll take care of you. As you know, feeding people is our love language, and we want everyone to feel the love!
- For the church ceremony, you're on your own. But, there's usually plenty of street parking on Cortez, and the church has 2 own parking lots for you to use! - For the restaurant, we're offering a complimentary valet parking by Mon Ami Gabi (although alcoholic drinks will be aplenty, so maybe consider ubering for maximum fun!)
Absolutely not.
