We met while taking a communications course through UNLV, Ethan's first semester since moving home from SUU and my second semester of my freshman year of college. Having just moved to Las Vegas less than a year prior, I was eager to make friends away at school. Ethan and I would connect occasionally throughout the semester, but once the summer started we ended up losing contact completely for about 3 years. In February of 2021, I reflected back on this brief friendship and searched for him on Instagram. After finding his page, I gave him a follow. He came into the gym where I was working at the time, we exchanged numbers, and we have spent most days in each others company ever since.

Our Valentine's Day celebration came a day late given busy work schedules, but just a few weeks prior, Ethan had asked one morning while I was making breakfast if I wanted to do a 'Valentine's Day' photoshoot with our good friend and most incredible photographer Angelina. (To which I replied yes!!) The week building up to the photoshoot we had coordinated outfits, and where we would celebrate each other at dinner following the photos. Towards the end of our photo session Downtown, Angelina had suggested a shot where I would hold a handful of rose petals and throw them into the air as high as I could. After one practice toss, she counted down my cue to throw the petals for the real thing, and as nervous as I was to mess up the one shot we had, I thew the petals and turned around-- Ethan on one knee behind me. He said a few words that neither of us can seem to remember, but we both know that he asked me to marry him, and well... I said yes!!
