Andrew & Kaitlyn met through their campus ministry, Chi Alpha, by mutual friends. They began talking on a regular basis (strictly as friends) and never seemed to stop. They were very good friends for nearly a year and a half before taking the steps towards dating. They consistently found themselves enjoying spending time with and around each other, and seemingly always found themselves talking to each other when around other people. Most people, although it was never explicitly said prior to the two becoming a couple, said that Kaitlyn and Andrew would eventually come to their senses and start dating. The couple is overjoyed to have each other and the happiness they bring into each other’s lives. They have both prayed for a love like this throughout their life, and they are thankful to the Lord for bringing them together.

After a year of friendship, Kaitlyn caught feelings for Andrew first. This mistake will haunt her for the rest of her life. It wasn't until late January of 2024 that Kaitlyn’s feelings got communicated. She told Andrew that they “needed to talk,” so Andrew thought he had done something wrong. Quite the opposite! Andrew needed some time to think about it after so long in the friend zone (brother zone, technically).

In March 2024, Andrew asked Kaitlyn to put off her spring break trip by 1 day to go on a date at Popstroke in Tuscaloosa. She crushed him in mini golf, and he got revenge in foosball. After that, they ate ice cream and just talked for a while before he dropped her off at home like only a true gentleman would!

Andrew took Kaitlyn to dinner at Foosackly’s because “it’s pretty cheap” (they were both in college at this time) before they went back to his house to watch Dune because she had never seen it. After the movie, Andrew asked her if she wanted to make it official and public. She happily said “sure” and the rest is history!

Fast forward... on Lake Harris in Tuscaloosa, Andrew asked Kaitlyn if she would marry him. Completely catching Kaitlyn off guard (she had no idea and had convinced her self it would not be the day Andrew chose) she excitedly said YES!
