Natalie and Garrett met one winter evening in 2016 at the University of San Francisco. The library was foreign territory for Garrett but he felt right at home the moment Natalie walked through the door. This life changing moment occurred in the atrium, aka the silent wing of the library. Before heading to class, Garrett decided that he had to make his move. Since he was in the atrium, and could not have a full blown conversation, he had to get crafty with his approach. He decided the best course of action would be to write Natalie a note on the back of his business card. He proceeded to mess the first draft up, whipped out a backup card and wrote a message asking Natalie to dinner. In the smoothest moment of his life, Garrett approached Natalie's table and calmly slid the card in front of her, paused for a second, and walked off to class. She made him wait a few business days but eventually decided to send him a very sarcastic text. After some light banter, a first date was set in San Francisco and the rest was history. They would proceed to spend the next year and a half in the city finishing school and falling in love. Once school ended, they both took jobs outside of California in different states. Garrett would take a job in Alabama and Natalie would go to Washington D.C. Their relationship was tested as the next 3 years were a version of long distance dating that included stops in D.C., Alabama, Los Angeles, and finally ended with the two lovebirds reuniting in San Diego.
