Whale Watching

Whale Watching

Whale watching off the Los Cabos shores is glorious, as the gentle giants can be found in impressive numbers all along the coast. The best time to observe them is during their seasonal migration to the nutrient-rich waters off Alaska from December through April. During the season, charters run tours to the migratory grounds with a variety of boats. You may find yourself on a wide, comfortable catamaran or a tony yacht, seeing pods of gray and humpback whales frolicking and spouting about with their young. Not to be confused with the whales, this region is also where you can see whale sharks, the largest fish in the sea. Their migration to local waters takes place between December to April. Book your trips early, as tours tend to fill up quickly.

Catamaran & Boat Tours

Catamaran & Boat Tours

Boat tours are the ideal way to immerse yourself in the aquatic side of Los Cabos. Many outfitters rent charter boats for full day and half-day excursions, while other companies offer sunset cruise, dinner and show packages. Consider hopping aboard a stable and comfortable catamaran for a day of activity, renting a private yacht for an exclusive experience or taking a dinner cruise around El Arco. Tours to Lovers Beach and whale watching trips are incredibly popular, as is simply sailing across the azure waters of the Sea of Cortez. Join a crew or be your own captain; the opportunities on the high seas are boundless.

Golf

Golf

Situated at the place where the Sea of Cortes meets the Pacific Ocean at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, Los Cabos boasts a mountain-desert-ocean environment unique in the western hemisphere. Only in Los Cabos do emerald green fairways tumble down from cactus-studded foothills to meet the sea. Only in Los Cabos can golfers tee it up on world-class layouts built by design legends such as Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, Greg Norman and Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Only in Los Cabos can players enjoy great golf and perfect weather: Blue skies, brilliant sunshine and cooling sea breezes prevail year-round.

Horse Back Riding

Horse Back Riding

Harkening back to genuine cowboy days, many operators run horseback riding tours through the desert to observe the outback scenery or on the beach to view a stunning sunset. Well-trained horses are easy to ride for people of all ages. Trotting via horseback allows the rider to sneak up on wildlife that would normally be spooked by a rumbling engine of an ATV. Animals such as coyotes, roadrunners and quail can be spied on most trips, bringing smiles to all riders.
