It all started on a cold December night at Harry Savoy. Grace came for dinner, and Giuseppe came with charm, humor, and an open heart. Not long into the conversation, Grace mentioned she had a daughter—and without skipping a beat, Giuseppe smiled and said, “That’s great! Family is the most important thing to me, and I love kids.” From that moment on, something just clicked. We quickly became inseparable. We laughed a lot, leaned on each other through everything, and built a strong, unexpected bond. A few months later, life threw us a surprise—we were having a baby. After the initial shock, excitement took over, and we became each other’s rock through a beautifully vulnerable time. Soon enough, we found ourselves with a house, a dog named Ruby (also known as Ruby Doo,) and two incredible daughters, building a life that felt like home. Now, about the proposal… let’s just say it didn’t go exactly as planned. One chilly night, Giuseppe had a romantic walk by the water all mapped out, ring in pocket and everything. But Grace, being completely unprepared for the wind and cold, complained the entire time—unknowingly ruining his grand moment. The dinner that followed was a bit awkward, but later at our favorite local bar, the laughter came back (along with lots of teasing). Giuseppe finally admitted the proposal plan that had blown away with the wind. A few days later while in bed, Grace started teasing Giuseppe about how it might “never happen.” Grace then rolled over—and there was Giuseppe, kneeling (on the mattress) with the ring in hand, asking, “Do you want to get married?” Through uncontrollable laughter, the answer was finally, yes. Our story isn’t traditional, but it’s ours—and it’s full of love, laughter, and the kind of chaos we wouldn’t trade for anything.
