Where we Began

#The Bench

The first time we crossed paths was at a friend’s game night. I remember noticing David’s warm smile and thinking he was really cute. Little did I know, he had noticed me too—he thought I was cute too and loved my height! The second time we crossed paths we had a quick little interaction, but it wasn’t until the third time that something really clicked. When David smiled, I instantly recognized him—I’d seen that smile before, and I remembered exactly who he was. After that night, we couldn’t stop talking. A few days later, we went on our first date. From our conversations, David remembered that I love going on walks, so he planned a simple but perfect evening—tacos followed by a scenic stroll along the Charles River. We ended up finding a bench and sat there for hours, just talking and laughing. That bench would later become our bench. And from that moment on, the rest was history…

The Proposal

#I Said Yes!!

David proposed on his 28th birthday—December 7th—a day I thought was all about celebrating him. I had spent weeks planning a surprise dinner party, making sure all his friends would be there, completely unaware that I was the one about to be surprised. Turns out, all of our friends were in on it, playing along perfectly to keep me in the dark. What I didn’t know was that David had planned an even bigger surprise. He had secretly arranged for my parents and siblings to be there, and somehow, they all managed to keep it from me. We walked into the restaurant together… but we weren’t there to surprise David—the surprise was for me. I looked around at the smiling faces of our loved ones, and then I saw the words: “Will you marry me?” Before I could even fully process what was happening, David was already walking toward a heart-shaped arrangement of flowers in the center of the room. I knew I had to meet him there. With my heart racing and tears already forming in my eyes, I made my way through the room, surrounded by the people we love most. And then, right there—right in front of everyone—David got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Of course, I said YES! Now, we can’t wait to begin this new chapter together, joining in covenant with God, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us!
