We met on the Independence of the Seas in 2016. We both showed up to the teen club on the first night and ended up in the same friend group. The funny part? We each thought the other liked someone else, even though we had eyes for each other from day one. We fell for each other as much as two high school kids could, in just 6 days, and saying goodbye at the end of the trip definitely came with lots of tears. Which I’m sure caused some eye rolls from family members. After the cruise, life took us in different directions. I was in Georgia, Ian was in Minnesota, but we never really drifted apart. We texted, FaceTimed, and stayed best friends for over four years, always secretly knowing that if we ever got the chance to be together again, we’d take it. We even ended up in Japan at the same time once, but God knew it wasn't our time just yet. Fast forward to April 2021, Ian messaged me while he was on a trip in Colorado. I was in Florida, and something in me just knew I had to see him again. A month later, I hopped on a plane to South Dakota to meet the boy I’d fallen for when I was fifteen, and my life completely changed. It only took one day together to confess that we loved each other, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Since then, we adopted our sweet boy Tucker, who has been with us every step of the way. We’ve lived in three different states, including South Dakota, Nevada, and Georgia. We have been on three cross-country road trips and more flights than Ian is comfortable with. We’ve grown up together, cheered each other on through everything, and somehow managed to keep falling more in love along the way. We thank God every day for bringing us together; without Him, our love story would not be able to be shared.
