The Tangents get Engaged! February 9th, 2022
I went to an audition at the Hoogland Center for the Arts for a show called "Pump Boys & the Dinettes." I was the first person there, so I sat down and started going over my music. About 5 minutes before the audition started some guy walks in with a plaid shirt, Carhart ball cap (a hat that I later would steal) and a guitar on his back. He was very friendly with everyone and very talkative (shocker). He mentioned he knew everyone in the room, even though he didn't know me, and looked at me and said "Even you. We're friends now." I was like "uh...ok." So I sang my song and read some lines, then Casey did the same. It was the first time I had ever watched him perform. It was a song from the show called 'Mam Maw,' and I realized he was very talented, not only as a singer but as a musician and an actor as well. After the audition had ended, we all stuck around for a bit chatting and what not. Casey came right over and started up a conversation. I remember him telling me he thought I did a very good job or something and then he turned to the room and said "I've got a show tonight at Motorhead's with my band TONIGHT if ANYONE (**looks at me*** )wants to come." Of course it wasn't totally obvious that he was specifically inviting me to come see his band. Now normally I wouldn't go just see some random guy's band but for some reason something was telling me to go... So I went. I took my friend Kelsi to Motorhead's, we sat down at the bar and Casey looked surprised to see me. Kelsi and I ate, had a few drinks, and stayed for the entire show. Little to my knowledge, After I left Casey told his bandmates that he was gonna marry me someday. Casey and I talked almost the entire next day on Facebook and he asked me to go out with him that Monday with him to Craft Beer Bar for an Open Mic. The rest is history :)
I was talking with Debi Iams one day and mentioned that I had thought about all the people I had dated and I thought it would be nice to date a dancer. Well...Six months later I was at an audition for "Pump Boys & the Dinettes." I already knew I was gonna get the part so I was just having fun, being confident and having a good time, so I was a bit cocky right? So, I turned around and I saw Tiffany sitting there and instantly fell in love with her. I was playing a show later at night at Motorheads with the band and so I mentioned to the whole room, but purposefully looked at Tiffany and said "I've got a show later on if anyone wants to come! It's gonna be a lot of fun!" When I watched Tiffany do her part of the audition, cause it was like an open audition, which is weird cause I've never seen that before, I saw her do her thing and I thought she did a really good job. I was very impressed with her acting and her singing skills. I didn't even know she was a dancer! And so, after the audition when I went to the show ya know and as I was playing I saw Tiffany come in through the door with a friend of hers and I wasn't sure it was her cause I only met her once and didn't want to be a complete idiot going up to some stranger ya know? But I took the chance. I then leaned over to Zach Eyyman and said "That's the woman I'm gonna marry." And that's the truth.
