We had originally planned a small, casual ceremony with all family and a few friends. But after the passing of Kaitlins dad in January—just five months before the wedding date—we felt called to make it even more intimate. He had been bravely fighting cancer for two years, and though we knew time was limited, we had hoped he might still be with us. In the midst of this loss, keeping the ceremony simple with just Connor’s mom and my grandparents felt like the right way to honor this moment in our lives. We’re deeply grateful for your love and understanding as we navigated such a difficult process during what should have been the happiest time of our lives.
While we aren’t planning a traditional reception or after party in any sense, we hope to celebrate in meaningful ways with our loved ones over time. Your kind words, calls, and hugs mean the world to us.
We had the most beautiful, intimate ceremony with our closest family members on our hotel balcony at The Driskill. It wasn’t exactly as planned as we decided to scratch everything soon before the passing of Kaitlin’s father and do things differently, but it was the most loving and beautiful day. We had an incredible dinner in the Wine Cellar at 111 Forks in downtown Austin with our parents and photographer only. It was beautiful to have those closest to us enjoying a delish meal post “I Do’s” before the night started. We then walked to a downtown tattoo shop and got matching tattoos before we met with some friends to celebrate that night. We are unbelievably grateful to Ken and Debbie for gifting us the start to our forever.
We only added a few items on our registry as we are just thankful for the love & support but if you feel called to send a gift, there is a registry here.
