It was a hot summer night on September 6, 2019 (Ian's 24th birthday). Mayte and Ian met at a house party hosted by Brandon, one of Ian's oldest friends. Unbeknownst to the soon-to-be couple, Mayte's best friend Alex, who is also Brandon's cousin, had a plan in motion to set up his dear friend with the dashing Ian. Alex didn't have to push too hard though because the moment Mayte walked into the room, Ian introduced himself and she was speechless. The conversation went something like - Ian: "Hey, I'm Ian." Mayte: "...Oh." The smitten duo had their first date exactly one week later on September 13, 2019 and as they say, the rest is history <3
