Liz and Kendra met in 2019. While their friendship bloomed, Kendra struggled to deal with her crush on this gorgeous new person in her life. Kendra would often have to take breaks in the Trader Joe’s walk-in freezer to cool off. “Why does she make me so nervous and sweaty and why does she smell so good?” Kendra would ask friends and they would smile and watch Kendra panic. Liz told Kendra that she thought she was "super cool" and wanted to be her friend, but only "friends". And then, Liz would check at 3:45 in the morning to see if Kendra was working that day. And if Kendra was working that day, Liz would get ridiculously excited and happy that she would be there, and then continue to constantly follow Kendra around the store. And so after a little, (okay, maybe a lot of) push and pull and some denial, they both finally agreed…maybe they ARE more than "just friends". We officially began dating in January of 2020. We had a couple blissful months before the world shut down. Throughout Covid we navigated the challenges of living in a scared, uncertain world. We not only preserved, but continued to get to know one another on a deeper level as we shared our values and hobbies with one another. Together we spent time putting puzzles together, doing outdoor date nights with our projector, drives to the mountains, camping, cooking, crafting, reading out loud to each other, and going on both small and big adventures. Throughout all of this, one thing remained clear, we were falling deeper and deeper in love. We found a safety in each other, a home we had found in no other person. In August of 2021, Kendra proposed to Liz under the guise of a wildly spontaneous trip to Portland with a friend turned into a surfing trip to Manzanita. Under a Blue moon, Kendra’s hands shook as she expressed her love and asked Liz if she would please, be her wife. Liz also planned a magical trip the following November. On one of the most beautiful hikes they have done together, it was her turn for her hands to shake as she asked the question. And so it was official, we were going to make our lives happen- TOGETHER. The respect, love, loyalty and trust of one another enables us to take on every challenge that has been thrown at us. The hard times seem to become easier after we talk to each other and tackle it together. The good times become great times as our hearts smile bigger with pride and joy for the happy moments for the other. We have figured out how we move through things both big and small and that is by always moving towards each other. We have learned that no matter what, we will always keep moving towards each other throughout whatever comes our way. Our love continues to grow through time and space and we are so excited to spend our lives together hand in hand, side by side.
