Riley and I have known each other since Murphy Junior High School. However, we didn’t truly get to know each other until June of 2020. We connected at a friend’s house, chatted for hours, when he finally asked me on a date. For our first date we went down to Port Jeff where we picked up pizza at The Pie and brought it on my family’s boat to eat and watch the sunset. We talked for hours, until 1:00AM, and didn’t even realize how much time had passed by. We connected instantly and I knew in that moment he was someone special. Fast forward 4 years later, and we are happily living in Miami with our amazing little kitties, Remi & Denim.

It was a Friday evening, right after our 4 year anniversary, when Riley decided to plan a surprise “date” for us. We began by taking a walk in the park near our apartment. As we were walking, I noticed a picnic setup and as we get closer I said, “Aw, that’s so cute!” When he follows with, “That’s for you!” I look at him in shock and think there’s no way he pulled this off without me finding out… As we got closer to the setup and I saw my name on a pizza box, that’s when I knew this was actually happening. I was so surprised and instantly felt the happiest I'd ever been! Riley had made dinner reservations, but we decided to cancel because we didn't want the moment to end. After a few hours, we headed back to our apartment and Riley pulled out copies of old email notes that we used to write to each other in the beginning of our relationship, and we read them together. The next day, he planned a hotel pool day with my sister and friends to celebrate and relax. Lucky for us, we also had a trip to Nice, France planned for the week after, so we were able to celebrate there for 8 days as well. Looking forward to many more exciting days together!
