Jordan & Ian were each other’s first Valentine. Yes, really. In 7th grade, fate worked in Ian's favor by sitting him next to Jordan Skinner...and he was hooked. The minute he saw her, he knew what the word “crush” meant. He told his mom back then that, “Jordan is the nicest and prettiest girl in school.” They didn’t say much to each other the majority of the year. Actually, most interactions consisted of Jordan asking Ian for help on math homework as Ian bashfully lended a hand. On Valentine’s Day, it came as a surprise to Jordan when Ian handed her a box of chocolates and asked with a red-faced smile, “Will you be my Valentine?” Jordan was flattered and equally embarrassed as any middle-schooler would be. She quickly said, “Sure!” and averted eye-contact. The two went on to pretend like nothing happened the entire rest of the year. As they both navigated middle school and high school together, the timing was just never right to start a relationship. Lessons needed to be learned & growing needed to happen. Then, the summer after freshman year in college, the two surprisingly reconnected. Jordan was now based in Nashville and Ian was attending Texas A&M. She came home for summer & they were able to go on their very first date. Within two months they fell in love, and decided to jump into a long distance relationship that would last four years before Ian made the move to Nashville. Within 1 year they both knew they were going to marry each other. Each with their own distinct personalities, the two compliment each other in ways they know no one else could. Jordan admires Ian’s slow & steady presence, a welcome calm to her bubbly energy. Jordan's antics bring more than just the occasional smirk to Ian's face as he is well aware his life will always be full of entertainment with his fiercely loyal best friend by his side. Now, they will be each other’s lifelong Valentines & look forward to this journey together as husband and wife.
