Jeff and I met thanks to our mutual friend Cameron Rhoads. I met Cameron while living in Cambodia (shout-out to Kara Hogeda for connecting us) and we became fast friends. When I got home to Austin, Cameron came to my welcome home party with his two best friends of 15+ years, Jeremy Lacaze and Jeff. That's when we were officially introduced. That day, Jeff and I hit it off right away and we continued to hang out whenever he was in town from Houston. Fast forward two years to my company's holiday party: I needed a date and wanted someone I knew I'd have fun with. So, Jeff was the obvious choice. We had a blast, as usual, and by the end of the weekend had decided to try out the long-distance dating thing. It was the best decision we've ever made. Jeff stayed in Houston for another year and a half and we took turns driving back and forth on weekends. (Just kidding, Jeff came to Austin 80% of the time.) Then, we found a house to rent and Jeff moved to Austin! We spent a year and a half living 150 miles apart, another two and a half years sharing a home with our sweet pups, and now we get to spend the rest of our lives together.
